Write to [email protected]. That address is the whole of it: there is no telephone number and no postal address, because there is no office and no team. I read everything and answer most things, though not always quickly.
What I can help with
- A correction: a meeting point that has moved, a listing that has changed, a page that has gone out of date
- A planning question the pages here do not answer
- Working out which square your walk actually starts on, if the confirmation is unclear
- Something on this site you found confusing, badly explained or plain wrong
- A question about a source: which register, which day-book, which report a date came from
- A press or research question about the site itself
What I cannot help with
- Bookings, changes, cancellations and refunds. Those belong to GetYourGuide, through the confirmation email they sent you
- Adding a date to a walk. The guided ghost walk runs on set evenings and one reviewer found a single one in a whole month, and I have no more influence over that than you do — the review says so plainly
- Anything belonging to the operator: its timetable, its guides and its listings are its own
- Telling you whether it will rain on your date. The walks go ahead in rain and cold anyway — what to wear
- Anything urgent. In Denmark the emergency number is 112, and that is the number to call rather than me
- Link exchanges, guest posts and sponsored placements, which I do not do
If you have just been
That is the most useful message I get. Where the group actually gathered and what was written on the sign. Whether it was dark. How many people were on the walk. Whether the self-guided material still matches the streets it describes. Put the date you walked at the top of the message and I will get it onto the page it belongs on, usually where the walks start or the reviews.
If you have a correction to the history
Better still. Every date on this site comes from somewhere, and if you can tell me the volume or the file that says otherwise I will change the page and say what changed. Eleven years on a reading-room desk taught me that most disputes about what happened in a Copenhagen street are settled by somebody going and looking, and that the person who goes and looks is usually right.
A note on replies
I write this site alone, around other work. A correction gets acted on quickly because it is quick. A long planning question may sit for a while. If you need an answer before you travel, the booking platform’s own support is faster than I am for anything to do with a booking, and the complete guide probably already contains the answer.
